Francesca Merritt,
Coloratura Soprano

Welcome to my site devoted to my classical singing! I am a coloratura soprano trained in the art of bel canto opera, art song, and sacred music. I began my career singing sacred music at age of 16. I studied art song and opera in college, studied and performed Italian opera and early music abroad in Tuscany, and began intensive studies with a master teacher in New York with a direct line to Rosa Ponselle. During my time in New York, I made my international operatic debut as Blondchen in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail on the BBC International network. My musical programming has received recognition from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. I am currently pursuing my Master of Music at West Chester University’s Wells School of Music.
